Blade Maintenance & Care
Proactive and consistent blade maintenance will keep blades running and cutting properly for many years. A few
drops of oil applied to all the mating surfaces of the blade on a daily basis is highly recommended if clipper and
blade are used regularly. Oster Blade Wash can be used to clean hair buildup on the cutting blades. After submerging in
blade wash, wipe all surfaces clean with a cloth and dry with canned air. A burst of canned hair can help blow
out any remaining hair not cleaned out with the blade wash.
If blade movement or cutting action still is not working properly after cleaning then check the mating surfaces.
A good place to check is where the tension spring mates with the moving blade. Slide the blade to the left or right
but not completely off. Check blade groove for any hair or other buildup and remove. Wipe groove and tension spring
plastic guard clean. Return clipper blade back to its normal position and re-lubricate with the clipper running.
Add a couple drops to the cutting teeth, the flat mating surface between the blades and tension spring. Always
remember to power off the clipper when attempting to remove blade for cleaning.
